Ministry Update
November 24, 2008

Dear Partners in Ministry,

As we approach Thanksgiving, we want you to know we’re extremely grateful for your tremendous support through the years. Many of you have been with us from the very beginning of our ministry with Campus Crusade. Others have come on board somewhere along the journey. All of you have had an enormous impact on our work through your faithful prayers and generous contributions. Please accept our sincere thanks for your devoted partnership.

We appreciate your prayers for our work at the Ministry of Defence in London. Terry has been invited to lead a six-week Bible study on “The Christian in the World” as a follow-up to his earlier series on “The Christian in the Workplace.” The sessions will take place on Thursdays from January 8 to February 12. Jon Horne, a Campus Crusade staff member based in London, will then spend seven weeks leading the group in a series on sharing the gospel. Please pray for these studies.

In working with some of the other organizations that minister to the armed forces in England, we’ve learned of a Christian admiral who serves at the MoD. Tim Knight, our contact there, will talk with him to see if he’s willing to sponsor a Bible study for senior military and civilian officials. Please pray God will bless this discussion and will lead the admiral as he makes a decision about our offer.

Our efforts in Poland also need your intercession. After reviewing our proposal that a group of Christian cadets from the U.S. minister at a Polish military academy next summer, the Campus Crusade staff asked that we hold off for at least a year. We also had proposed the organization’s campus directors invite cadets to attend outreach events at universities in the cities in which academies are located. This, too, has been delayed. Please continue to pray that Campus Crusade leaders will develop a strong partnership with Military Christian Fellowship officials as they seek to take the gospel to cadets.

Thanks for praying about Terry’s trip to Romania and Moldova. After completing almost all the details, we received word from our headquarters that we would have to postpone the trip. The financial crunch in the U.S. has taken a toll on contributions to Military Ministry, and one of the areas our leaders have cut back is travel. We’ve also been notified two of our supporting couples have had to end their longstanding donations. Please pray that during these challenging times, God would provide for the personal needs of all those who contribute generously to Christian causes.

We trust you’ll be spending Thanksgiving with members of your families and close friends. We’ve invited the folks who attend our church home group to join us. For most, it will be their first experience with the traditional American celebration. We’ll also take time—as we know you will—to thank the Lord for His bountiful blessings in our lives. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks again for ministering alongside us in Europe. We look forward to what God will do as together we continue to seek His direction and strength for this important work.

In Christ, Terry & Elizabeth
